The Primary Mathematics Association (PMA) is a voluntary, professional organisation of people who are interested in the learning and teaching of mathematics at all levels within the primary school.

To provide opportunities for teachers to share and associate with others, searching for ways to provide optimum mathematics learning opportunities for children
To promote and support research into mathematics learning and teaching
Investigate and assist in the development of mathematics programmes, CWSA and CWSN
Raise community awareness of the need for children to have access to quality programmes which provide challenge and enjoyment
Promote and encourage an awareness of cultural influences and gender issues related to the learning and teaching of mathematics
